Context: Provision of services for Explora Conicyt of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Explora, is a program of the Ministry of Sciences of Chile, aimed at the dissemination of science for children and young people.

The institution at that time asked me to develop a modular “art installation” with the message “Everything is Science”. Slogan to invite people to a massive event that was held in O Higgins Park.

 

Problem: Create a stand to hold 4227 plastic test tubes with liquid inside.

 

Solution: A three-part modular wood and metal stand was developed. Each part was divided in two, therefore the entire body was modular.

Each support had columns of fishing line in which the test tubes were fixed. Test tubes were filled with clothing ink and fluorescein.
